Dog Friendly Hotels??? |

|
I'm going to be traveling and need dog-friendly hotel ideas. I'm looking for something that's clean & a reasonable cost. I'll be working
near an airport, so most any ideas you could throw my way would be usable.
I could really use the suggestions! Thanks in advance! Rena |

There are a bunch of websites that list all dog-friendly hotels --- www.petswelcome.com; dogfriendly.com...and I think even on hotels.com you can do a search.
Generally speaking, in my experience, Best Westerns, Comfort Inns and Econolodges take dogs if they are crated, and you pay a deposit. Even when I make the reservations online, I generally call the hotel and let them know that I will have a dog --- that way, if there is a room that has direct access to a grassy area, they can give that to me. |

He'd be in a crate when someone wasn't there with him. Thanks for the pointer...a room with easy outdoor access would certainly be key.

We "hotel - it" whenever we go to the river on boating weekends. Microtel is our common choice, though I'm not sure how many are around. They
have a wide open arms pet policy
Our most recent river trip was Buster's first run. We ended up with a 2nd floor room and had to really do some planning for potty breaks, especially that first thing in the morning one! I found out right away that I had to carry him down the hallway because he'd get desperate and squat halfway to the elevator... It all worked out though, and Buster took it all in stride! Beth |

Red Roof Inns accept dogs without a deposit which I appreciate. Their policy says one dog only, but they have been known to make exceptions.

Probably depends, but I'm in Canada. My DH and I recently did a cross country trip with Dakota and we found Comfort Inn to be the best. They
didn't require crating at the ones we went to. I found them clean and well maintained.

DH and I just picked up a great book from AAA called Traveling With Your Pets that has nationwide listings of pet-friendly hotels, motels, parks, etc. We
couldn't believe how much great info there is in this book! I'm pretty sure you can order it from AAA online, but we picked ours up at a local office.

I've stayed in several Super 8's that allow pets, but not all of them do. You'd have to check.
I believe that all La Quinta Inns allow pets, but again, I'm not 100% sure. Galadriel sat upon a white palfrey and was robed all in glimmering white, like clouds about the Moon; for she herself seemed to shine with a
soft light. On her finger was Nenya, the ring wrought of mithril, that bore a single white stone flickering like a frosty star.

If you can, check where you can walk the dogs. Doing a "last call" in the parking lot among the trash cans is, well, yuckky.
