Anyone know any Basset Rescues in that area, they have two that seem to be together. Posts: 6609 07/08/07 10:03 AM Dog Sports Trainer/Moderator	Now, now. Crushes are not the same as love. Crushes come and go and often come to naught. For instance, my crush on Val Kilmer Seriously, though, I do find small, red and white basset hound females very cute. Go figure. I haven't spent much time investigating, but I'm guessing that there are a lot of Basset's in southeastern shelters? Maybe Basset Rescue already has their hands full? I believe this shelter is open to working with rescue, but doesn't go looking. I observed the process some German Shepherd rescuers went through recently to get a male GSD from this shelter a month or so ago. They were open to letting him go to rescue, but hadn't reached out and were receiving calls but not making them. So, guess I'll go see if I can find Bassett Rescue, I was hoping Aruuu would know that world.

When i was hitting the shelter here hard, they went through spates of bassetts and I checked into rescues for them and they were all mostly full. Act as if it were impossible to fail--Dorothea Brande

Posts: 1377 07/09/07 10:19 AM Senior Member	Rats, Patty, I just returned from a three-day dog show and was alerted to this. I have no rescue contacts myself, but I know the rescue people here in NE and will give them a call. Sadly, there may be nothing we can do to help these two, but I'll try. There are way too many bassets in rescue. By the way, Patty, I happen to have an adorable red and white girl here. This morning DH went to his office for awhile and left before I got up. Since his stroke last August, he sleeps on a bed in our now quasi-livingroom downstairs. He didn't crate Eloise when he left . As a result, the comforter on his bed now has less stuffing, which I picked up from the floor of the livingroom and diningroom. I can just see the pure delight Eloise took in her mischief after spending three days as a show dog! This is why I nicknamed her my Little Red Devil. Good thing she's cute as a button. Off to make a call -- thanks for the alert and keep your fingers crossed that someone can help here!

I can't take in the dog, since it looks like I'm getting a foster Dane this week (!), but if there's any calls I can make locally let me know.
