Ok, her owner came to get her and couldn't/wouldn't pay the *$750* adoption fee and so was turned away. $750? I don't care if leash and tags and a 50% discount on dog food is included, that seems quite excessive. How did this happen? There must be a logical explanation but I don't see it. I can't imagine a lot of people being willing to pay that much to adopt a dog either. And the spaying and shots are no more than other places do, why are they charging so much more for it here? I think this is the system not working. And this very sweet seeming dog is going to pay the price.
Rescued from a kill shelter as a stray unreclaimed by her owner. (Her owner had come in to the shelter to get her, but was unwilling to pay the reclamation fee, which was several hundred dollars because she had not been licensed or spayed.)
