I've noticed that Kaes, our little cat, has had these small horn-like calluses on some of his front paw pads for as long as I can remember, and I never
knew what they were. They don't bother him in the least, although sometimes the very tip seems to break off. I've heard of only a few other people who
has cats that have these, and they said that they've clipped them off with no pain or bleeding at all, but I've never done this to Kaes. I was just
wondering if anyone knew what these were. Someone at the shelter I work at asked me about this the other day with their foster cat, although he only has it on
one paw pad. So does anyone have an explanation? Here's a picture of what I'm talking about (not Kaes, but a picture I found online).
