I believe that's similar to what my sister has. She kept in a pit bull mix who could climb six foot board fences with it. I think she's been happy with
it.

Read the Amazon reviews - people are reporting random warning beeps within the safe area.
Also, if the dog gets out: Over-correction prevention (automatic shut off) - If your dog completely leaves the boundary of the safe zone, the duration of the electrical stimulation is limited to 30 seconds. After 30 seconds the system automatically shuts off for five minutes before resuming stimulation for another 30 seconds. This pattern of 30 seconds on, 5 minutes off repeats until the dog returns to the safe zone. That's not good. When it comes to strapping electronics onto our pets, I believe in buying the absolute best possible. From the sounds of it, I would not use this system.

I don't think her dogs have ever completely left the boundary.

Me either, and serves me right for not reading it completely.
Thanks. I'll look more closely at Dogwatch systems, which I think is IFCO products. |

Jemini - as a "liner" for an existing fence, I am much more comfortable with the idea though still not a fan of the random beeping reported. But that
may not happen with every installation.

The "word" around here is the signal is random. Certain activity, like a garage door opening or other electronics in the area can cause the signal to
be inconsistant and it's not been very successful.

Hijack - had to look up the "Stubborn Dog" collar.
Has an additional vibration "warning" - that I like. The rest - HOLY COW! And fits a 6" neck. Why? A lot of dogs with 6" necks who need a REALLY strong eletronic jolt? And only to be used on dogs 30 pounds and up? I'd have to see the dog who was 30 pounds with a six inch neck. The rare Pin Headed Volehund - bred to dig like a badger but with a small enough head to fit down a vole hole. Five levels - and 3 x more powerful than their regular collar from "OUCH!" to "Medium Rare"? Argh.... so many dogs who go through the field are NOT "stubborn" but poorly trained and now they can be poorly trained and seriously zapped. AND this thing is for sale to everyone with a credit card. Sigh....painful to contemplate. "PetSafe PRF-275-19 Stubborn Dog Super Receiver Collar

Good Lord.
If you ask, most people who don't train their dogs either at all or inconsistently will argue that they have that very rare who REALLY does need the stubborn dog receiver. sniff. |
