Got up early to go over and tend the horses before the bugs got going. Brought Pip and Bracken along so they could hike and swim a bit. Pat (my friend and the homeowner) and I were headed down to the pond, about 150 feet or so from the van, which I had left open.
Pip suddenly streaks back up to the van and hops in - clearly a dog on a mission. Two seconds later she hops out and streaks back toward us. As she gets nearer I can see that she is carrying on of the HUGE milkbone type biscuits I use for blocking and distraction work from class. She races up and drops it near my feet - looks up with a big doggy grin. The human equivalent might be a "Can I have it, huh Ma, huh?"
I blink - ah... BIG answer - YES and what a GOOD DOG! I pick it up praising every moment, break it - give part to my little Mensa student and a piece to Bracken. Pip eats hers with obvious delight.
I love it when my dogs surprise me and that surprised me - esp. from my food fanatic little Pipster. Atta Girl Pip!
Anyone have good dog moments to report? Doesn't have to be like Pip's offering today - just moments when they offer more than you expected them to or expected them to be able to...a great wait at the door, an unexpectedly quick "out"... whatever.
Brag!

) came in sight. Did a "leave it" right past Chip's
house. No anxiety, no pulling. Then we get to the next house. Very scary terrier. Sit, look at me, leave it. Yup...walks right past on a loose lead. (We call
it "good walkin'." We had a very scary trainer who ruined "heel" forever.)
