Cranky People???? |

|
Has anyone else noticed a dramatic increase in the percent of cranky people over the last month? At first I attributed it to the full moon but it just never
changed. I have never been yelled at so much (over nothing) and had people just start crying for no reason that I can see ... I've also never seen people
driving so crazy as they have been recently. I helped Barry over the weekend at a trial and so more 'weird' behavior than I've ever noticed.
Finally, today, it dawned on me that perhaps the economy is really getting to folks - and, none of us are managing our stress with it very well. (One of the
folks at a workshop I attended last week mentioned it as a big stressor right now. While I know it's stressing me I just wasn't thinking of it
stressing others.) So, I was wondering if it's just me (and my energy is attracting all this stuff) of if it's more generalized? Thoughts? (thinking
calming thoughts in NY) Kay

Well, actually... no? But then I'm not in NY, not even in the US, so I guess that doesn't really negate your theory.

I would have cited the proximity of the next round of elections, but, uh, I think that probably has to do with MY household's rising tide of crankiness
than the nation in general. I will say, though, that I haven't enjoyed watching so many of my diverse collection of friends make werewolf-like
transformations into snide, glib partisans... and recognizing those impulses in myself hasn't done much for my mood, either.
Oh, plus it's damn hot and that makes me cranky. So do the mosquitoes. I haven't noticed much increase in crankiness in the strangers around me, but Los Alamos is where people go when they openly admit to themselves that they prefer their labs to having social lives. It's very easy to avoid other people here if you're not in the mood to deal with them. |

OH SHUT UP!!!!! Tee hee hee!!!! Just kidding! I'm thankfully not around many of my stressors right now, except graduate school. I know the economy is
stressing out a lot of people. I haven't heard people grime and moan so much about the government and elections as I have in the last few years. And with
fires and floods and rising temperatures and the media fueling as much talk about how bad off we all are, and probably many people losing their homes and jobs
or worrying about it...... Geez, I'm stressing out just thinking about it all!!!

I've noticed more road rage recently, but I'm within that population as well, unfourtunately. I chalk it up to metro NY and the belief that humans
simply weren't meant to live so close together in such tight areas.

Here it's hot, dry, and we have lots of ticks and mosquitos. But I am NOT CRANKY.
I really haven't noticed a lot of cranky lately, but maybe I'm just oblivious.

I am in the "Hamptons"- it is a holiday week- I just wanna go HIDE somewhere-OMG they are cranky and rude and just plain nasty and arrogant.
September will come, September will come ( us locals chime that mantra-also"citiots" and "summer people-some are not!" just to get us through. |

I picked up 3 dogs in 3 days(ok, 1 showed up in my backyard), only 1 had tags, and i still have a 5 month old mix pup as no one appears to be looking
for it yet, and I didn't want it going to the shelter and getting sick. Sigh.
A simple thing like tags on collars would cure 95% of my crankiness.

Oooh, I had a great spell of cranky on Tuesday. I tried to maintain Zen calm at a meeting but at one point, reflexively rolled my eyes because of some idiocy
(thankfully, the person who caused the eye rolling didn't see or my head would have been rolling).
Today, everything is back on track, Tuesday's problem was solved by Wednesday. Mary Ann Sadie, Brinker, Snowy, Huckleberry Barnable, S'More |

Well, my mood (and my tolerance for crankiness) improved as the week wore on. However, the issue of people driving weird never cleared up and I was nearly run
over more times this week than I care to remember.
I do hope that next week is better and I'm going to concentrate on improving my mood so that I attract more folks who are doing well (and so that I have more tolerance for those who aren't). I appreciate everyone's feedback and sharing of experiences. I hope that everyone has a great 4th. Kay |

Yup... noticed more tension in myself as well... like a low level fever of stress... and I think it is definitely "contagious"... like we're all
contracting - holing up - got our heads down- whatever you call it.
Not sure what will shift it - nationally - but I'm sure something will....

Yes, I have noticed, I think a lot of issues in the world are coming to a head. Rising food prices, no check on gas prices, the mortgage meltdown, the
continuing war in Iraq ect., it's all bound to take it's toll on people.
Combine that with a hot already summer and it's edgy central. |
