Thank you guys so much!! I'm sorry I didn't reply sooner, we had a bit of a family upheaval and I spent my birthday at my grandfather's funeral. It's really not something I am horribly sad about, because my dad's side of the family puts the "dysfunction" in dysfunctional, but I went home to support my dad. Actually another family member from my dad's side died the same day (some sort of great aunt by marriage), so I could have stayed for the viewing and the service/interrment the next day, but I think 2 funerals in 2 days, bookended by drives from Boston to Philadelphia and back again, was a bit too much. Eight hours in the car each way was just really tiring.

So anyway, thank you for your wishes, and Newman would like to say that he really WOULD like some cake, because his owner insisted on running a T4 test and whaddya know, his thyroid level is low and so he's very happy to have his new medication burn off the cake calories, because otherwise nobody EVER feeds him. EVER.
