Hi I'm new to the boards, but thought I'd share a "new puppy" story. We have a 9 week old samoyed. I just got the My Smart Puppy book, and
we have just started the Mine game. Trouble understood it quickly, and after about 3 repetitions was sitting looking at me for a treat (this was last night)
She got bored and we moved on to other things. She was playing later in the evening, and she suddenly looked at me and started toward something she
couldn't have. I stepped in fromt of her, she stopped and sat and looked at me, I gave her a treat and praise and was pretty impressed with myself and my
dog - until we repeated the scenario about 10 secs later, and then again 10 secs after that. I grew suspicious at that point, and did not step in front of her
the next time, and she gave the item a sniff looked at me hopefully, then finally came and sat in front of me and looked at me, clearly wondering what had
happened and where was her treat? The book says nothing about what to do when YOUR PUPPY starts setting up the training games!!!

Ummm....at least you recognized it.
Some of us get trained and realize months later that we've (OK, I'm talking about myself) been trained all along. |

Ah, the curse of nominal determinism....
I guess you are finding out what happens when you name your dog "Trouble!" Great story! Thanks for sharing - I love smart-y pants pup stories.

Some day I shall get a dog and name her "CalmObedientSympatheticPatientChildLoving".
But Trouble does sound fabulous! Welcome.
