He's feeling better!! I'm now having to *make* him stay crated and quiet because he wants to chase the cats again. He had explosive diarrhea all over
his crate and himself yesterday and that was no fun. I'm thinking it was a medication reaction. He goes for his recheck today.

Good luck.
He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and
true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion--Anonymous

He got a good report! The vet was able to manipulate his neck without much resistance or reaction and I'm just pleased as punch. He still needs to be kept
quiet for a couple weeks and I'm glad that this will be difficult. He also has to wear an obnoxious harness when on lead- those things are a pain in my
butt.

What kind of a harness? I like the Premier Sure-fit for my corgis.

I got it from Petsmart, not sure of the brand. It was 23 bucks and I don't like the way it fits. I may check out the sure-fits and see if I like the looks
of them. I wanted a figure eight one, but they don't sell those.

Just seeing this....glad Henry's feeling better. I don't envy you trying to keep a corgi quiet, though.

Okay- he's completely back to his old self. I know you guys aren't vets and aren't likely to tell me to contradict my vet's advice- but why do
I need to keep him quiet still if his pulled muscle is back to normal and he's no longer in pain? I did think it was kind of crazy when they told me
"3 weeks", but I didn't want to whine to the vet and act like I didn't care about my dog.

Because he may be feeling better but not be "healed". If he goes right back to normal crazy corgi activity he will probably just re-injure himself
again, and possibly worse than before. There's a good chance that in such a short period of time he is only partially healed. That makes the fact that he
"feels" better dangerous.
Don't trust your dog's attitude entirely when basing decisions about when it is okay for him to do XX. If it was me, I'd be following my vets advice re: rest and restriction. |

Do you have an exercise pen where Henry can have a little more space without injuring himself? I used one for Tiger's recovery period from back surgery.

Just an FYI | #57 | ||

Just had a client here with a basset/lab mix and he had similar issue and this happed twice. Vet told my client it was from playing too much tug of war, with
them and with other dogs. He has a long back and the whip of the tug just totally caused inflamation.
