I've been wanting to work on place with Croc, but I have a problem. The two times when I feel like place would be most useful for us are times when
I'm not going to be able to release him.
For example: I give Croc a bone filled with yummy stuff before bed, and he usually, but not always, lies on is bed and chews it. Sometimes, however, he moves
to the floor which can be annoying because it makes a lot of noise as I try and fall asleep. So, I'd really like to be able to say "lie here while
you chew". But I don't mean "lie here all night". Of course I want him to be able to get up, go get a drink of water, even climb in bed
with my son if he wishes. So, is there a way to say that?
Also, I'd like to be able to say "go to your place" when I leave him alone in the bedroom and close the door. We've had a couple of
incidences where he darts at the door and has almost got closed in it, so now I throw a treat on his bed, he goes to get it and I run out. Again, I don't
want him to lie on his bed until I return -- just for a little while.
Is there a way to teach/train this?
