That was the best show they've done, what a great assortment of talent they assembled!
I've been waiting for weeks to hear Adam sing Queen. |

Adam should join Queen RIGHT THIS INSTANT. Freddie Mercury reborn!
That was the BEST finale night ever. I'm a little sad at the outcome, but it's still OK! |

YOWZA!!! I especially liked when Kara outdid Bikini Girl
But the
music was wonderful. I am surprised about the outcome, too, but then I'm still sad about Danny Gokey!

My favorite musical numbers were Queen and Cindi Lauper....what a great little duet they did with Time after Time
As for the outcome.....Sorry Kris, Adam deserved it more. Nancy, Cedric, Diggory, and Lola

What's up with Paula Abdul always standing. I like Simon just sitting there really laid back and enjoying it all.

I did want to hear him sing Queen, but I am with Toni, he's no Freddie Mercury.
Most of these folks on Idol are very, very good, but not necessarily true originals. Time will tell whether either of them has true vocal originality. The fact that I kept thinking for weeks and weeks that Adam needed a Queen song suggested to me he is acting. He's got some real technical ability, but I don't hear his own sound. The screeching was not pleasant or interesting - but I did like him anyway. Enjoyed the technical ability, but haven't yet heard something signature. Someone like Rod Stewart singing, without the technical ability of an Adam or a Danny, yet he's rock royalty and neither of them can bring the original "sound" to the table that a Rod Stewart can. There is this ineffable "it" factor that folks have or they don't. Much as Danny Gokey could sing, he can't hold a candle to Lionel's Ritchie's delivery for instance. Only part of that is being seasoned - those guys wouldn't be the royalty they are if they didn't have "it" to begin with. So my long winded way of saying, as much as I enjoyed Adam, his technical ability, he really is eye-catching, I'm still not sure he's got "it" in terms of signature sound. I haven't heard it yet. I thought Adam was going to win, hoped Kris would, but was disappointed for Adam. I think kris brings something authentic to the table, although I don't yet have a sense of whether he has a signature sound either. I don't think it was rigged - I just think Kris is more mainstream and appealed to a larger portion of the public. P |

Well, OF COURSE there will only ever be ONE Freddie Mercury, but Adam would be a great fill-in. I'd see that concert!
I am geekily trying to get tickets to the Idols tour when it comes to Dallas.

Great assessment P! As for staying power I don't think any of the Idol winners will be around singing like we love to listen to old classic rock. Nothing
against their talent but they just don't hit the notes with the likes of Billy Joel, Rod Stewart, Aerosmith.
