I went and talked to my college advisor yesterday and we got a lot settled about challenges and competency credits towards my degree. I was going to take a
simple HTML class that I already started over the summer. Weeeelllll, he says "Oh, let's put you in the advanced coding class and that way we can

Very good CD, but I'm not a graduate student. I have what they call an "Occupational Specialist" teaching certificate that allows me to teach
that which I did professionally for 8-10 years before I decided to teach.
I never got a bachelor's, and I'm stuck on the lowest pay scale until I do. They accept my certificate, but not that it might be equivalent to a
degree. To teach, I had my experience, a two week intensive summer course of 8 hours a day, and 20...

If I'm remembering correctly Deitris is a high school teacher, taking graduate classes in the evenings/on weekends.

The programming languages you'e mentioned don't actually sound like they'd by particularly mathy. Actually, I only find programming in general
mathy if you're learning how to write good algorithms, not if you're just learning the basic rules of syntax and how the language works. I suppose it
depends a bit how mathy you have to get to call it mathy.

You will be able to do really cool web stuff, though.

What does teaching 'preps' mean? Is that like being a teaching assistant (i.e., tutorials, labs, marking)? If so, then it must be different than here,
because I have only rarely heard of students TAing more than one course a semester, and then it was 2, and then those were pretty experienced TAs who had TAd
the course(s) multiple times before. I...
