I was just cleaning the living room when this thought occurred to me: my cat Dugan must be the only cat ever that comes running from 4 rooms away TOWARDS the scent of Lemon Pledge. What are some things your cats do that are un-cat-like??

Pumpkin sprained her shoulder and is on house arrest for three days. She is NOT happy about this. Right now she's sitting at the door STARING at me.

SERIOUSLY.
So, Kaido has this thing for opening cabinets. It's annoying, and all the lower cabinets have baby proof latches on them because of it.
He's been more annoying than usual lately, and pulling them open as far as the latch will allow so that he can get his paw in there to pull anything out possible. After the first two times he did this, I finally re-arranged the cabinets so there...

Oh my we have never foster a litter of kittens before. It has been fun an as each one reached 2 pounds they went off to their forever home. Yet funny looking, as in so cute I actually squeee at her every time I look at her. Earlene has not been even looked at.
well I gave her a go by or stay date. Time marched on and she and our resident cat Leon had become friends. They play non stop. Leon who has grown up around dogs and knows commands sit and paw, has passed sit down and Earlene...

Stray kitten update

So, the family that was going to take Dharma, FeLV+ has decided they love her and want to take her. I've provided them with all the information I have, good and bad, but they are just smitten. This is their only pet, so it seems a perfect match. I dropped her off last night and today I was told she was already allowing them to pet her and purring up a storm. She's eating lots and using her litterbox. Fingers crossed that she has a long, healthy life.

Now off to trap her...

He's 16 now - has kidney issues and after not eating much last night refused breakfast this AM...and this from a food loving cat who, like many cats, is vocally persistent until he gets his loving (if sometimes rather slow-witted) humans to comply .... we're off to the vet....

We have a new kitty family in our neighborhood. Houdini cat, the mother of our Noelle, has had another litter of 3 calico kittens. I've got the traps set, but the pushy adults keeping setting them off before I can catch the kittens or mamma. Some trapping help would be appreciated.

What should I do about this?

Okay, now that that's out of my system...

In the past week, Ender has twice peed/pooped in the bathtub. He pulls the towel (used for a bathmat) off the side of the bathtub to cover it up. Because, you know, he's tidy. I've been throwing out the towels.

My black kitty, Koumakpai, has a gum/throat/gullet condition that makes it really painful for her to eat. It had gotten to the point where she was barely eating and I was getting kind of desperate. She looked like an Italian Greyhound and had tons of dandruff and was just wasting away before my eyes.

But now she is eating well again! All I have to do is cut thinly sliced ham into little pieces and feed it to her one at a time. She laps it up with her tongue and swallows it...

Suffice it to say, Inky and Pumpkin do NOT like each other. During Spring, Summer, and early Fall, it's just an avoidance dance, because most of their activity is outside.

Now that it has gotten cold outside, we are back to the inside wars. So today I need to find a spot for a downstairs litterbox for Inky, set up the extra food bowls upstairs.

The other day I went to put on my slipper, and it was soaking wet, and we all KNOW who pees in shoes and clothes piles....

For my usually snooty, bitchy Tortie cat, Madelyn to decide she actually loves me and wants to be my BFF. It's creeping me out. She's headbutting me and purring and making biscuits on me and is currently curled up in my lap. I'm almost wondering if her sudden behavior change warrants a vet visit. I'm even allowed to pet her without her usual bitchy meow thing she does.

housebreaking kittens question

For some reason a couple of the kittens in this batch are not getting the litter box. I have them enclosed in an exipen so it's not that they don't know where it is but of them is peeing and pooping wherever she feels like. I food and bedding placed to discourage her from other areas but it doesn't seem to make a difference. Today when I get home and am going to move the pen to a new spot. Any other suggestions?

I thought I would be doing a good deed by agreeing to help someone on Craigslist learn to give her geriatric cat subcutaneous (SQ) fluids. I've done fluid demos before and the people generally learn pretty quickly.

It's been 2 marathon sessions (2.5 hours on Sunday of "meet the fluid bag and the tubing and the needle", and an hour+ last night of me holding the cat and trying to talk the lady through removing the needle cap, etc) and the lady is still terrified of...
