			<description><![CDATA[ Besides an actual GSD, that is.  My 10 year old wants a GSD puppy for Christmas.  He knows better than to even ask, but I know that&#39;s what he&#39;s
dreaming of.  This is the kid who covered his writing journal at schools with pictures of police dogs, plus one shot of Obama (the assignment was to cover it
with photos of your heroes), and who keeps asking me what colleges are good at criminal justice AND animal science since he wants to be a canine officer.

			<description><![CDATA[ <p>We were having a pretty quiet day at home today, since we spent a LONG chunk yesterday at the dog park, so I gave her some animal part (cow foot, I think)
to nosh on and she was a happy camper all morning. Around 11, my cleaner shows up, We greet her and then I start picking up all of Holiday&#39;s toys and
animal parts (cow knuckles mostly, but a couple hooves as well) to put them away. She follows me back into the office/kennel room, grabs the cow foot she was
gnawing on in her kennel... ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ Since I haven&#39;t really had time to post and new pics or post on here about how freakin&#39; awesome Echo is, here are the highlights:

- He weighs 8.25# at ~9 weeks old.

- The brown on his chest is starting to cover more of his body... makes him look slightly brindle-ish. Will post pics as soon as I get my camera battery
charged.

- He&#39;s ridiculously rambunctious when he wants to be, but SUPER sweet and calm when he needs to be, too.

			<description><![CDATA[ Maya&#39;s not a demonstrative dog.  She shows that she loves me by following me around the house, and grins when she&#39;s happy, but she doesn&#39;t beg for
attention or that kind of thing.

			<title><![CDATA[ Not good training!  Just Bogart amusing me! ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ Yesterday I decided that it was time Cassie learned some tricks.  Been really slack in that dept with her.  So I grab some treats and Cassie, put Bogart in a
down stay behind us.

The trick is to roll over.  So I have Cassie in a down in front of me and I start luring her over.  She is so not Bogart, but her head and eventually the rest
of her kind of flop over.   Treats and praise for both.

			<description><![CDATA[ Our two seven-month-old poodle fosters (one in his new home and one healing up from her spay) took a trip to <span class="bld"><a target="_blank" href="http://www.intownvet.com/portcity/about.html">Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital</a></span> to see <a target="_blank" href="http://www.intownvet.com/portcity/vets/cassotisn.html">Dr.Cassotis</a> - board certified eye guy - to get checked for cataracts (their NYC vet had spotted
something).

Still doing Weimaraner rescue, currently don&#39;t have a foster but there are Weims coming up from the South so one might find it&#39;s way to my house.

			<title><![CDATA[ Bootsie has cancer. ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ We just got back from the vet where Bootsie had a sonogram. She has 2 tumors; one on her kidney and one on her spleen. Vet said chemo won&#39;t work. He said
the herbal medicine has a 50/50 chance of shrinking the tumors so I am starting her on them. Our dog, Mugsy, got an extra 15 months of good quality life with
these herbals, but he had mass cell tumors .
<br>
I&#39;m to bring her back in 2 weeks for a recheck and then in 4 weeks he will repeat the sonogram to see if they shrunk.

			<description><![CDATA[ Poor guy. I was brushing Dugan last night, who really hates to be brushed. Meowing and growling and trying to squirm away the whole time.Well he finally won
and escaped to the night table. Eye level with eager, unsuspecting Murphy who approached to incessantly sniff the cat as usual. Dugan was still WAY fired up
from the brushing so he hissed and smack! A little kitty punch right across Murphy&#39;s nose. He is so mellow he will sit there and let the dog sniff him

			<title><![CDATA[ Took Bogart to the vet again ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ Yesterday afternoon I noticed Bogart&#39;s tummy making gurgley sounds.  So when he went outside I followed, just to make sure everthing in the poop department
looked good.  It didn&#39;t!  What I found was a lot of blood and a small amount of very soft stool.

Ran inside to phone the vet&#39;s office.  Why is it when you are in panic mode those darn cordless phones are nowhere to be found.  Anyway finally got a hold

progress with the boy!

Baby steps are so darned small...but they&#39;re definitely moving us forward!

The first thing I had to deal with was getting him interested in durable treats. Sounds like a no brainer, but he had to learn how to work a stuffed kong! He
